Rendering DV/DVCPRO - NTSC w/ alpha?

I tried exporting my DV/DVCPRO movie with "Lossless with Alpha" and the background still remains. When I export it out as an Animation with that setting, it works fine but it pixelates my movie I lay it on top of in Final Cut and the movie itself renders out very pixelated.
Either way, I'm not getting what I want which is just my moving image with no background. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help. Still, some questions though.
The problem could be related to how the FCP timeline, if set to DV, re-encodes the video to DV (as expected).
My timeline is set up for DV as all the rest of my video is set up for DV. Because of this, I put in the Animation video file and I have to render it. Before I render it, it's actually at a high quality but once I render it, the quality degrades horribly.
Have you chekced the rendered file, or used an external video monitor?
I have checked the rendered file and it was high quality. Unfortunately though, I am working on my work computer and they do not have a video monitor for me to work on (and my videos only go on to the web anyway).
As far as PNG and JPEG2000, are you referring to a PNG Sequence or JPEG Sequence? If yes, I will give those a shot. Again, thanks for the help.

DV/DVCPRO NTSC Compression not working

Slow rendering from DVCPro-HD to MPEG2-DVD?

I have a home built PC with a quadcore 9450 chip, 8GB ram, Vista-64 Business, Mercury rendering (GTX460) - so it's not a particularly slow machine. My current project is 2 hours, 45 minutes long, shot on DVC-Pro HD 720-30P.  It is one continuous take

Why does some video need to be rendered in FCE 4 before I can work on it?

I've been trying to get a handle on FCE 4 because it's very different than iMovie '08. I have a bunch of content in iMovie that I'd like to mess with in FCE 4, so I exported from iMovie as FCE XML and imported in FCE. There is some video that I re-en

Cinematized QT's always need rendering... why?

I experimented with every video output option Cinematize has and even the lowest resolution QT file with no audio requires rendering in my timeline. I have FCP 6, so it asks if I want to switch the timeline to match the clip, but still RED LINE. I've

Poor quality graphics after rendering

Analyzing then rendering...frames jumping all over the place

Hello, I want to draw a transparent texture (a cloude texture that is square and reapeating) with soft edges (the cloud shape is defined through the geometry not the texture). For this I've created a geometry with a alpha value of 0.0f at the edges a

Hi, I've been trying to export a video and I'm getting some weird output. I want an uncompressed .mov file, so when I'm exporting I pick to export as .mov, then create a new preset, choose the "Apple DV/DVCPRO - NTSC" codec, and set it to 16:9 (

DV Video Rendering

Hi, I'm a new user to Final Cut, previously using iMovie 6. I'm making a documentary, and I shot hours upon hours of video with my Mini-DV camera in .DV format. When I import these files into FCE 4.0, the red render bar appears above the file, and th

Improper cuts appearing in my final output with Quicktime

Hi everyone. I've been struggling to output what, in my opinion, is a fairly simple project I've edited from an old home video (originally shot on miniDV). It's mostly just cuts and some simple text titles. Forgive me for some ignorance regarding Fin

Trying to create "screencast", and am totally confused...

Exporting from Quicktime for optimal editing in FinalCut Express

I've read that it is recommended to export H.264 for best quality in Quicktime, but Final Cut Express doesn't play H.264 in real time. It forces you to render if you want to edit in the timeline. What is the best format to export from Quicktime in to
