DVCPRO HD 1080p30

Hi All,
So I just got back from a trip in which I shot with an Panasonic HVX200 at 1080p30 and I want to be able to edit the footage that I shot. Unfortunately, my computer is not recognizing the footage. The set up that I am currently using is a PowerMac G5 1.8GHz with Final Cut Pro 5.1.4. Is there any reason why I'm not able to to see or edit the footage? I have already tried to convert the footage several different ways and they were all failures.
-Ben C.

Are you not using the IMPORT PANASONIC P2 option? There is a specific workflow for P2 in FCP...
In FCP 6 and 7, the option has been changed to LOG AND TRANSFER, but for FCP 5.1 and 5.0, it was called IMPORT>PANASONIC P2. You need to load the P2 drivers for this stuff too.
